Panthers Unveil 2027 Baseball Roster

ATLANTA – Georgia State head coach Brad Stromdahl announced the roster for the 2027 season on Monday afternoon. 

The newcomer class is composed of six NCAA Division I transfers, two NCAA Division II transfers, one JUCO transfer and five high school signees, to join a returning group of 24 Panthers from last season. 

The Panthers feature 10 returning position players with starting experience at GSU, including Carter Bailey, Hunter Carlson, Wesley Bass, Austin Sellers, Cooper Milford, Kinnick Pusteoska, Lucas Grantham, Noah Jordi, Austin Killingsworth and Jackson Ginther.  

The pitching staff contains nine pitchers who have recorded innings at GSU, including Tysen Benford, Joshua Evans, Jake Hembree, Michael Caruso, Hunter Atkins, Cooper Lewis, Brantley Upshaw, Wesley Moore and Niall Todd.  

Listed below are the newcomers who have joined Georgia State's program: 

Josh Gibbs | INF | So. | Cumming, Ga. | Forsyth Central | Kennesaw State 
Josh Gibbs joins the Panthers after his freshman season at Kennesaw State, where he earned Conference USA All-Freshman honors and played in 33 games with 25 starts in 2026. He posted a .243/.328/.379 slash line with eight extra-base hits and 14 RBIs, including his first career home run and a three-run homer against Georgia Tech. A highly regarded prep standout at Forsyth Central High School, Gibbs was ranked the No. 3 overall player and No. 3 shortstop in Georgia by Perfect Game in 2024. He earned multiple Perfect Game tournament MVP honors and was named the Best High School Player in Georgia by MaxPreps in 2025. He plans to major in Sports Management. 

Manuel Castro | INF | Sr. | Manchester, N.H. | Manchester Memorial | St. Bonaventure 
Manuel Castro joins the Panthers after his 2026 season at St. Bonaventure, where he batted .330 with 62 hits, 18 doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 45 RBIs in 48 starts. He previously spent two seasons at Northern Essex CC, earning NJCAA Second Team All-American and Region 21 Player of the Year honors after hitting .465 with a .806 slugging percentage and .540 on-base percentage in 2025. He recorded 60 hits, 24 extra-base hits, 53 RBIs and 34 stolen bases while helping Northern Essex reach the NJCAA Division III World Series. Castro also earned an ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award at third base. He intends to major in Business Management. 

Alex Edisis | INF/OF | Fr. | Miami, Fla. | TNXL Academy 
Alex Edisis joins the Panthers from TNXL Academy in Ocoee, Florida, where he was a four-time Perfect Game All-American. He was ranked the No. 3 first baseman in Florida and No. 8 nationally by Prep Baseball Report and set the TNXL Academy all-time home run record. Edisis hit .330 with 15 home runs as a senior and helped TNXL Academy win the 2025 championship and finish as runner-up in 2026. He is undecided on a major. 

Kade Kisz | INF, So. | Woodstock, Ga. | Blessed Trinity | Georgia Southern 
Kade Kisz joins the Panthers after his freshman season at Georgia Southern, where he appeared in 11 games with three starts at third base in 2026. He recorded two hits and two RBIs during the season. A standout at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School, Kisz was ranked the No. 41 third baseman nationally in the 2025 class by Perfect Game and earned First Team All-Region and All-State honors from 2023-25. He posted a .436 career batting average with a .564 on-base percentage and helped Blessed Trinity win the 2025 GHSA State Championship. He is majoring in Finance. 

Dexter Benoit | RHP | Sr. | Fayetteville, Ga. | Whitewater | Columbus State 
Dexter Benoit joins the Panthers after spending the 2026 season at Columbus State and previously playing at Coastal Alabama. He appeared in 16 games out of the bullpen at Columbus State, posting a 3-0 record, one save and 17 strikeouts in 24.1 innings. At Coastal Alabama, Benoit made 22 appearances with 17 starts, recording an 8-11 record, 6.06 ERA and 91 strikeouts in 113.1 innings. He also hit .250 with one home run in 12 games as a designated hitter. A four-year letterwinner at Whitewater High School, Benoit earned Second Team All-State honors as an outfielder and hit .330 with eight home runs as a senior. He intends to major in Marketing. 

Ty Mobley | RHP | Fr. | Sandersville, Ga. | Washington County 
Ty Mobley joins the Panthers from Washington County High School, where he was a four-year letterwinner and four-time All-State and All-Region honoree. He was named Region Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year during his prep career. Mobley also competed for Canes National and intends to major in Business. 

Chancellor Jennings | OF | Sr. | Batesburg, S.C. | Gilbert | USC Aiken 
Chancellor Jennings joins the Panthers after his 2026 season at USC Aiken, where he started all 53 games and batted .355 with 82 hits, 45 RBIs, 66 runs, six home runs and 19 stolen bases. He earned Second Team All-PBC honors while posting a .979 fielding percentage. Jennings previously spent two seasons at Winthrop, batting .333 in 2025 after hitting .268 in 2024. At Gilbert High School, he helped lead his team to a Class 3A state championship and served as team captain from 2021-23. He is majoring in Middle-Level Education. 

Peyton Robidoux | RHP | So. | Smyrna, Ga. | Whitefield Academy | Washington 
Peyton Robidoux joins the Panthers after his freshman season at Washington. A three-time region champion at Whitefield Academy, Robidoux earned All-State and All-Region honors from 2022-24 and was ranked the No. 25 pitcher in Georgia and No. 262 nationally in the 2025 class. He intends to major in Business. 

David Ojeda | OF | Fr. | Buford, Ga. | Buford 
David Ojeda joins the Panthers from Buford High School, where he was a four-year letterwinner and earned Second Team All-Region honors. As a senior, he batted .337 with a .508 on-base percentage and .652 slugging percentage, recording 31 hits, eight doubles, three triples, five home runs and 26 RBIs while stealing 13 bases. He helped Buford reach the Elite Eight as a senior and also competed for The Dream National Team. He intends to major in Business. 

Bishop Quarles | OF | Jr. | Nashville, Tenn. | Goodpasture | Florida Southwestern 
Bishop Quarles joins the Panthers after spending the 2026 season at Florida Southwestern State and previously playing at Bryant & Stratton. He batted .348 with seven home runs, 38 RBIs, 59 runs and 24 stolen bases in 49 games at Florida Southwestern State. At Bryant & Stratton in 2025, Quarles hit .409 with 16 home runs and 60 RBIs while going 31-for-35 on stolen-base attempts, earning First Team All-Region and Honorable Mention All-American honors. At Goodpasture Christian School, he was an All-State selection and helped lead his team to a state championship.  

Spencer Barta | C | Fr. | Roseville, Minn. | Roseville Area 
Spencer Barta joins the Panthers from Roseville Area High School in Minnesota, where he was a four-year letterwinner and three-time All-Conference selection. He recorded 97 career hits and competed in the Suburban East Conference in Class 4A. Barta also played for the Minnesota Blizzard and is currently undecided on a major. 

Kyle Rudolph | RHP | So. | Peachtree City, Ga. | Starr's Mill | Michigan State  
Kyle Rudolph joins the Panthers after his freshman season at Michigan State, where he made 11 appearances with six starts in 2026. He posted a 1-3 record with a 6.99 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 28.1 innings. At Starr's Mill High School, Rudolph was a two-time Region Pitcher of the Year, Region Player of the Year and First Team All-State selection. He helped lead the Panthers to a state championship as a junior, threw two no-hitters and broke the school record for career wins. He is majoring in Criminal Justice. 

Jackson Gaspard | RHP/INF | Gr. | Buford, Ga. | Buford | Mercer 
Jackson Gaspard joins the Panthers after spending the past two seasons at Mercer and previously playing at Georgia Tech. In 2026, he appeared in 17 games and recorded 14 strikeouts in 19.0 innings. Gaspard posted a 4.40 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 45.0 innings in 2025 and helped Mercer win the regular-season SoCon Championship. At Georgia Tech in 2024, he made eight appearances and posted a 6.75 ERA in 5.1 innings. A three-time All-State selection at Buford High School, Gaspard was also named to Georgia's Super 6. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. 

Zander Wills | RHP | Fr. | Grand Rapids, Mich. | TNXL Academy  
Zander Wills joins the Panthers from TNXL Academy in Ocoee, Florida, where he was named a Perfect Game Preseason All-American and threw two consecutive no-hitters in spring 2025. He also helped TNXL Academy win the National Academies Association Championship in 2025. Wills competed in travel baseball with Artillery Baseball and intends to major in Sports Management.
