ATLANTA – Georgia State Athletics enjoyed another highly successful semester in the classroom with a combined 3.23 grade point average for the spring 2024 term, including 227 student-athletes who earned academic honors with a semester GPA of 3.0 or higher.
 
Combined with a 3.26 GPA last fall, the Georgia State student-athlete population posted a 3.25 GPA for the 2023-24 academic year.
 
GSU Athletics has maintained a GPA (semester or cumulative) of 3.0 or higher for 32 consecutive semesters, dating back to 2008.
 
The Georgia State women's tennis team led the way with a 3.95 semester GPA for the spring, followed by the men's tennis program at 3.76 and the Sun Belt Conference champion and No. 14-ranked beach volleyball team at 3.75.
 
Other top performing teams this fall include women's soccer with a 3.69, women's golf at 3.54 and women's cross country at 3.5.
 
Thirteen Georgia State programs posted a team GPA above 3.0, including 12 teams at 3.2 or higher and six programs above 3.5.
 
The total of 227 student-athletes recognized feature 51 honorees on the President's List, Georgia State's highest academic distinction signifying a semester GPA of 4.0 or better. Twelve different teams are represented on the President's List, led by women's soccer with 12, beach volleyball with nine and softball with seven.
The Dean's List (3.50-3.99) includes 88 student-athletes, while another 88 individuals made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll (3.0-3.49).
