Baseball standout Will Mize is the Center Parc Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Panthers to a series win over James Madison, Georgia State's third straight series win to start the Sun Belt Conference slate.

Mize, the fifth year senior from Snellville (Brookwood High School) hit .462 in the series with two home runs, three RBI and five runs scored. His biggest hit came in Sunday's series finale with Georgia State trailing 7-4 after five innings; his 2-run homer pulled the Panthers within one run, and one inning later GSU took the lead and went on to clinch the series with the 8-7 victory.

Mize's home run Sunday was the 25th of his career, moving him into the Top 15 in program history. In the last week, Mize also picked up his 200th career hit, becoming the 13th player in GSU history with at least 200 career hits, 100 RBI and 100 runs scored. 

Mize and the Panthers play at Georgia Tuesday and then travel to Georgia Southern this weekend for a Sun Belt Conference series that opens Friday at 6:30 p.m.
