ATLANTA – The Dell McGee era at Georgia State opens on Saturday, Aug. 31 at Georgia Tech, kicking off the Panthers' 2024 schedule, which was announced Friday by the Sun Belt Conference.

Georgia State's 2024 home slate features the Sept. 14 game against Vanderbilt, the first Southeastern Conference team to play at Center Parc Stadium, and the Sept. 28 game against Georgia Southern. The home schedule also includes Chattanooga for the Sept. 7 home opener as well as Sun Belt foes Coastal Carolina, Old Dominion and Arkansas State.
 
In addition to the season opener at Georgia Tech—which is the first meeting between the two Atlanta schools—Georgia State will play road games at Marshall, Appalachian State, James Madison, Texas State and UConn.
 
The Panthers are coming off a 45-22 victory over Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. Georgia State has played in six bowl games in the last nine years, winning four, including three in a row.

>The game at Marshall will be a nationally-televised game on one of the ESPN networks on Thursday, Oct. 17.
 
>Times and television networks for the first three games will be announced in late May. For the remainder of the schedule, kickoff time and television will be announced 12 days prior to each game.
 
>Georgia State's 2024 slate features nine teams that played in bowl games in 2023 as well as FCS playoff team Chattanooga.
 
>After opening the season at Georgia Tech, the Panthers will play their next four games (Chattanooga, Vanderbilt, Georgia Southern and Old Dominion) at Center Parc Stadium over a six-week stretch from Sept. 7 through Oct. 12.
 
>The Panthers then face four straight road games (Marshall, App State, UConn and James Madison) before returning home to host Arkansas State on Nov. 16, a span of 35 days between home games.
