ATLANTA, GA --Cesare Edwards and Nick McMullen each recorded double-doubles, but the Georgia State men's basketball team fell to the Kennesaw State Owls 81-77 at home Friday.
The Panthers (4-5) had four players score in double figures, led by Zarique Nutter, who had 20 points, four assists and two steals. Edwards added a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Toneari Lane chipped in as well with 16 points and seven rebounds.
Georgia State out-rebounded Kennesaw State 45-36 in Friday's game, led by 12 boards from McMullen. The Panthers also pulled down 17 offensive rebounds and scored 15 second chance points.

How It Happened
After falling behind 6-5, Georgia State went on a 12-0 run with 17:25 left in the first half, culminating in a three from Lane, to take a 17-6 lead. The Panthers then lost some of that lead, but still entered halftime with a 39-36 advantage.
Georgia State kept its lead intact before going on a 7-0 run, finished off by Edwards' three, to grow the lead to 58-48 with 14:13 to go in the contest. Kennesaw State then asserted control, outscoring the Panthers 33-19 the rest of the way to hand Georgia State the 81-77 loss. Georgia State made the most of 10 offensive rebounds to tack on 11 second chance points out of 38 total in the period.
