STATESBORO, GA --The Georgia State volleyball team could not overcome an opposing Lady Eagles offense Saturday on the road falling to Georgia Southern in straight sets (17-25, 16-25, 23-25).
The loss dropped Georgia State's record to 14-12 overall and 5-9 in Sun Belt action.
Keionna MacKey finished with 16 kills on the day to lead the Panthers attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .324. got 12 digs from Kaleigh Fitzgerald to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Panthers found themselves in an early deficit, dropping a tough first set 25-17. Georgia State trailed by as many as eight points as Georgia Southern grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was notted up four times before the Lady Eagles took control.
SET 2 | A 25-16 set-two loss put Georgia State in a 2-0 hole in the match. The Panthers fell behind on the first point and never clawed back into the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Georgia State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Panthers lost set three 25-23. Georgia Southern grabbed the advantage for good at 21-20 in a set that was tied up five times before the Lady Eagles took over in the second half of the stanza.
