Panthers Come Up Short to Old Dominion

ATLANTA-- Georgia State fell 21-14 to Old Dominion at home Saturday afternoon.

The Monarchs improved to 2-4 on the year and 1-1 in Sun Belt Conference play, while the Panthers fell to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in conference matchups.

Christian Veilleux led Georgia State's passing attack with 211 yards through the air, tossing one touchdown and one interception.

Freddie Brock led all Panthers rushers with 40 yards in the contest. Brock also added 25 receiving yards and one touchdown. Michel Dukes also added 33 yards on the ground, averaging 8.2 yards per carry, as well as 73 receiving yards.

Ted Hurst reeled in six catches for 85 yards and one score.

Kenyatta Watson led the Georgia State defensive effort, recording one interception. Henry Bryant added 1.0 TFL and one sack and Rykem Laney had in the loss.

Georgia State's defense held up against Old Dominion's offense, allowing 343 total yards.

How It Happened

After falling behind 7-0, Georgia State fired back with a touchdown with 10:25 left in the second quarter to tie it at 7-7.Old Dominion then scored to take a 21-7 lead before the Panthers put a touchdown on the board to cut into the lead and make it a 21-14 game. Neither team scored again in the game.

» James Allen punted seven times for the Panthers with an average of 45.4 yards per punt while pinning the Monarchs inside their own 20 one time.
