2024 Football Opponents Announced

ATLANTA -- After capping 2023 with a dominating bowl victory, the Georgia State football program looks ahead to 2024 with the announcement of the Panthers' Sun Belt Conference opponents for next season.

All dates for the 2024 Sun Belt Conference schedule will be announced on or before March 1, but per today's announcement, Georgia State will face Arkansas State and Texas State from the West Division, along with East Division foes Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, James Madison, Marshall and Old Dominion.

Georgia State will host home games at Center Parc Stadium against Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern and Old Dominion while traveling to App State, James Madison, Marshall and Texas State in 2024.

Georgia State's four non-conference dates are already set. The Panthers open the 2024 season at Georgia Tech on Saturday, Aug. 31, facing their Atlanta neighbor for the first time.

The 2024 home opener is set for Sept. 7 against Chattanooga, and then Vanderbilt will become the second Power 5 conference team to play at Center Parc Stadium on Sept. 14. Georgia State's final non-conference game is Nov. 2 at UConn.

Georgia State's 2024 slate features nine teams that played in bowl games in 2023 as well as FCS playoff team Chattanooga.

After earning their sixth bowl berth in the last nine years and in fifth in seven seasons under head coach Shawn Elliott, the Panthers won their third straight bowl, 45-22 over Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
