Panthers Welcome Assistant Coach Abigail Bolt to Women's Golf Team

ATLANTA, GA—The Georgia State women's golf team welcomes Abigail "Abby" Bolt as the assistant coach, head coach Ket Vanderpool announced on Tuesday.

"I am very excited to add Abby to our program," Vanderpool said.  "Abby brings with her great course management skills which will be a tremendous asset to the team. Combining her love for the game and her experience in golf, she will be able help me further develop our players. "

Bolt comes to Atlanta from Towne Lake Golf Club in Woodstock, Ga., where she gained experience in course and event management, facilitating tournaments and teaching junior golf clinics.

"Abby also has a strong background in event-management which will help ensure we will have a successful home tournament in March," Vanderpool said.

Before working for Towne Lake, Bolt participated as a four-year letterwinner on the Appalachian State women's golf team. While playing for the Mountaineers, Bolt competed in 35 events and led the team with a 77.81 average, which awarded her the APPSPYS Women's Golf MVP Award in her senior season.

"I am very excited to be a part of GSU women's golf team," Bolt said. "I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such a successful program, and I'm looking forward to working with the girls and Coach Ket to help take the program to the next level."

Bolt graduated for App State in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in recreation management and a minor in psychology. Since graduation, the Woodstock, Ga., native has continued to stay active in golf by competing in amateur tournaments.
