SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. -- Gareth Steyn and Jordan Jung were Georgia State's top finishers at the Mirabel Maui Jim Intercollegiate, hosted by GSU at The Mirabel Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Steyn, the Australia native and transfer from Augusta, had the Panthers' best round today with a 71 to finish with a 3-under par 210. Jung, a junior also from Australia, opened the tournament by shooting 67-69 but slipped to 74 today to also finish at 3-under. They tied for 37th place in the individual standings.

Daniel Medellin, the transfer from Clayton State who opened with a 64, finished with a 1-under 212, tied for 46th.

Sophomore Connor MacMillan (3-over 216) and transfer Ian Davis (13-over 226) rounded out the Georgia State contingent.

After tying the school record with a 15-under 269 in Round 2, Georgia State entered the day at ninth place in the strong field, but the Panthers fell back to 13th of the 15 teams with a 54-hole total of 845 (7-under).

Auburn ran away with the team title, shooting a 56-under par 796 to win by 11 strokes over second-place Fresno State (45-under 807). 

San Diego State's Justin Hastings captured the individual medal, which includes an exemption into a 2024-25 event on the Korn Ferry Tour. Hastings finished with a 54-hole total of 195 (18-under), one stroke ahead of Jackson Koivun of Auburn and Joseph Lloyd of Fresno State. 

Georgia State's next tournament is Western Carolina's J.T. Poston Invitational, Sept. 25-26 Country Club of Sapphire Valley in Sapphire, N.C.
