MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Georgia State men's soccer traveled for a road meeting with Memphis and ended the match in a 1-1 draw on Friday at Billy J. Murphy Track & Soccer Complex. Dylan Williams connected on his first career goal in the 81' minute to give the Panthers a 1-0 advantage, before a goal by Memphis in the 83' minute evened the count.
Friday saw the Panthers register a total of six shots with two shots on goal for the match. GSU would defend a total of 13 shot attempts from Memphis, while limiting the Tigers to just two shots on goal.
With a 0-0 count standing through 80 minutes of play, Williams' unassisted goal marked a break in the scoring drought. The Tigers' late equalizer carried through to the end of regulation, and the match would end in a 1-1 tie.
GSU moves to 1-1-1 overall following the draw.
The Panthers return to the pitch on Tuesday, Sept. 5 for a home matchup against Wofford. The outing hosted by the Panthers at the GSU Soccer Complex is slated for 7 p.m. ET with ESPN+ set to broadcast the match.
