ATLANTA, GA -- Freshman Jahniya Jackson had a double-double with 16 kills and 12 digs, and Kayla Broom recorded 10 kills with a .563 attack percentage, but the Georgia State volleyball team fell in 3-2Â (25-23, 25-15, 16-25, 21-25, 8-15) to Chattanooga Saturday in the final match of the GSU Invitational at GSU Sports Arena. The Panthers went 2-1 in their opening weekend.
Izzy Durnell added 12 kills to help the attack. Durnell collected 35 digs on the weekend to make the GSU Invitational All-Tournament Team, along with Amanda Albertini, who had eight kills today and hit .418 for the weekend.
Up Next: Georgia State faces Elon on Friday, Sept. 1 at 12:30 p.m. at the USC Upstate/Wofford Tournament.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Panthers took set one 25-23 thanks to a solid showing on the attacking side. Georgia State put together a .450 attack percentage with 20 kills in the set victory. The Panthers rallied from down five at 14-9 to claim the win.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Georgia State put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-15 victory in set number two. The Panthers took control of the set lead early on at 4-3 and never trailed. Georgia State opened its biggest lead of the stanza, 10 points, to close out the set. The Georgia State offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Georgia State couldn't end the match in a sweep, losing set three to make their lead two sets to one in the match. The Panthers dropped a tough set 25-16. Georgia State trailed by as many as nine points as Chattanooga grabbed the advantage for good at 16-15 in a set that was tied up 12 times before the Lady Mocs took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 4 | Georgia State then dropped their second straight set 25-21 to brind the match level at two sets apiece. The Panthers dropped a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured seven lead changes and was tied eight times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than four points along the way.
SET 5 | Georgia State won the first two sets, but dropped the next three sets on their way to losing the match. The Panthers dropped the first point and never clawed back into the lead.
