The lastest episode of Mic'd Up Presented by Checkers features Matt Ruiz of the Georgia State baseball team.

The junior shortstop takes fans through a game with the Panthers, on the field, at the plate and in the dugout.

Ruiz is in his first season with the Panthers after transferring from USF. He has made an immediate impact as the starting shortstop, hitting .285 with six home runs and 34 RBI (second on the team). One of his biggest games came in Georgia State's 12-11, 14-inning win over Georgia Tech, in which he hit a 3-run homer and later scored the winning run on  wild pitch in the 14th inning.

Ruiz and the Panthers are on the road this weekend for a key Sun Belt Conference series at South Alabama. Georgia State's next home game is Friday, April 28 vs. Marshall.
