Spring Game Set for THERS-day Night Under the Lights

ATLANTA -- The Georgia State football team plays its annual Spring Game Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Center Parc Stadium.

The Spring Game will feature the Blue team, captained by quarterback Darren Grainger, defensive end Javon Denis and punter Kade Loggins, versus the Black squad led by captains offensive lineman Travis Glover, safety Jalen Tate and kicker Diego Medina.

The captains conducted the annual Spring Game Draft on Monday, dividing up the entire squad, coaching staff and support staff.

Running back Marcus Carroll capped a strong spring by being the No. 1 player selected in the draft.

In addition to top returnees such as Grainger, Carroll, Glover and wide receiver Robert Lewis, Panthers fans will get their first look at the eleven signees enrolled who this semester and will be on display in the spring game, including eight transfers and three freshmen.

Key additions from the transfer portal on display this spring include offensive linemen Tyden Ferris (Central Michigan) and Lamar Robinson (Norfolk State), receiver Jacari Carter (Merrimack), defensive lineman Henry Bryant (Louisville) and linebackers Kevin Swint (Clemson) and Tavian Brown (Colorado State).

With Grainger running the Blue team, freshmen signal callers Braylen Ragland and Bryson Harrison will quarterback the Black squad.

"This team is a little bit different. There is a different look in their eyes," head coach Shawn Elliott said.
