Mic'd Up with Jacari Carter

Presented by Checkers

The latest episode of Mic'd Up Presented by Checkers features receiver Jacari Carter, one of 11 newcomers for the Panthers this spring.

Carter enrolled in January after transferring from Merrimack, where he earned all-conference and Freshman All-America honors at the FCS level. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Carter caught 125 passes for 1,227 yards and 13 touchdowns in 25 games at Merrimack. As a freshman in 2021, he had 89 receptions for 713 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 games in 2021. His 89 receptions were four shy of Cooper Kupp's FCS season record.

Head coach Shawn Elliott has been impressed with Carter since he arrived on campus.

"He has done an exceptional job," Elliott said. "He has fit in so well with our football program. He's intelligent, he's an extremely hard worker and he's a good leader. He's small in stature, but he plays big.

"You always look to improve a position in recruiting, and I think we hit a home run with that young man."

The Panthers wrap up spring practice this week with the annual Spring Game on Thursday, March 9. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. at Center Parc Stadium. Admission and parking are free.
