Odom Records Double-Double in Loss at No. 17 BYU

PROVO, UT -- Georgia State fell at No. 18/17 ranked BYU 86-54 Saturday at the Marriott Center.

Dwon Odom collected a double-double with 12 points and a career-high 10 rebounds for the Panthers (4-6). Lucas Taylor tacked on 10 points and Jay'Den Turner added eight points.

But the Panthers could not contain BYU, which hit 15 3-pointers. The Cougars had 23 assists on 32 baskets while committing just four turnovers in the game. BYU got a career-high 20 points from Richie Saunders.

The Panthers used a 9-0 scoring run late in the first half to pull within 31-26 with 3:49 left, but BYU closed the half with eight straight points to take a 39-26 lead into the locker room.

Georgia State managed six blocked shots, including two by Edward Nnamoko.

After playing seven of their first 10 games on the road, the Panthers return home to host Toccoa Falls Tuesday at 11 a.m. in their final non-conference game.
