Marcus Carroll, were named to the 2023 All-Sun Belt Conference football team, selected by the league head coaches and media panel and announced Thursday.

Robert Lewis made the third team, while quarterback
Darren Grainger, safety
Jeremiah Johnson, outside linebacker
Kevin Swint and receiver
Tailique Williams earned honorable mention recognition.
Georgia State (6-6) is bowl eligible and will learn its destination on Sunday as the Panthers will play in a bowl game for the sixth time in 10 seasons of FBS football, including five of the last seven years under head coach
Shawn Elliott.

OLB KEVIN SWINT, Honorable Mention All-Sun Belt
Outside linebacker who tied for the team lead with four sacks and seven tackles for loss, despite battling injuries ... Had his best game in the win over Marshall with six tackles, three TFL including two sacks, and a forced fumble. Had all three TFL on consecutive plays in fourth quarter: he tackled Marshall standout Rashaan Ali for a 1-yard loss on first down, then sacked QB Cam Fancher on second and third downs to force a punt ... Opened the season with six tackles, two pass breakups and a forced fumble in win over Rhode Island ... Had eight tackles with one TFL and a forced fumble to help hold UConn to 50 yards rushing and 326 total yards in 35-14 win in which GSU shut out the Huskies for the first 48 minutes ...
