Lane is Center Parc Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week

Men's basketball standout Toneari Lane is the Center Parc Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week after averaging 17.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in two games last week.

The sophomore transfer opened the week by scoring a career-high 23 points for the second straight game to lead Georgia State to a 93-90 win at Little Rock in which the Panthers rallied from a 17-point second-half deficit. With GSU trailing 61-44 with 14:22 left, Lane started the Panthers' comeback by scoring nine straight points on back-to-back treys and then three free throws. In the overtime, with GSU holding a 2-point lead in the final seconds, he hit a pair of free throws for a 4-point advantage with 11 seconds to go.

Lane, an Atlanta native who attended Grayson High School, added 12 points on four 3-pointers at Charlotte.

For the season, he is Georgia State's second-leading scorer at 13.0 points per game, including a team-high 17 3-pointers.

Lane and the Panthers (3-3) play at in-state rival Kennesaw State Saturday at 1 p.m. and then return home to host Middle Georgia State on Monday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. at the GSU Convocation Center. Visit GeorgiaStateSports.com/TIX to purchase season and single-game tickets.
