Panthers Fall in Opening Match of Sun Belt Conference Play

 
The Panthers opened Sun Belt Conference play with a three-set loss to Coastal Carolina, 25-12, 25-20, 25-16.
 
The Panthers were unable to string points together to get momentum on their side throughout the match. While the Panthers have stood atop the Sun Belt Conference in team blocks, they were bested in that category tonight 12.0 – 5.0. This affected the Panthers attack, as they only hit .074. The Panthers ran a 5-1 offense for the first time this season. Jenna Brown led the charge and the sophomore setter dished out 23 assists.
 
Erin Wyatt continued to shine for the Panthers, leading all players on either side of the court with 11 points. The junior also put down nine kills, three blocks, and picked up five digs. Julianna Truscott put down nine kills, hitting .389. Clara Bednarek notched three blocks, bringing her season total to 48. Sophomore libero, Livy Kowalkowski, picked up fourteen digs and served up two aces. Right side, Izzy Durnell, notched four kills and block. Senior middle, Laura Ehieze rounded out the hitting for the Panthers with two kills.
