First Regular-Season Game in Convocation Center Nov. 7

ATLANTA -- The Georgia State women's basketball team will play the first regular-season game in the new Georgia State University Convocation to kick off an exciting 2022-23 schedule.
 
After an exhibition game against Emory on Oct. 30, the Georgia State basketball programs will officially christen the GSU Convocation with the first regular-season games in a doubleheader on Monday, Nov. 7. Head coach Gene Hill's women's basketball squad takes on Agnes Scott, followed by the men facing Coastal Georgia.
 
Season tickets for the inaugural season at the Convocation Center are on sale now by visiting GeorgiaStateSports.com/ConvocationCenter or calling 404-413-4020 for more information. Information on single-game tickets will be available in October.
 
Following the season opener, Georgia State's non-conference schedule heats up quickly as the Panthers play back-to-back road games at 2022 NCAA Tournament teams Georgia Tech (Nov. 13) and Florida State (Nov. 15).
 
Another highlight is the Dec. 4 home game against Clemson at the GSU Convocation Center. The Panthers also host Winthrop, Chattanooga, North Alabama and LaGrange in non-conference play along with road games at Florida A&M and Kennesaw State and a trip to Cleveland State for a three-game event Thanksgiving week.
 
Georgia State opens Sun Belt Conference play on the road at Louisiana on Dec. 29, and then the Panthers will host their first conference game in the GSU Convocation Center Jan. 5 against South Alabama.
 
For this year's Sun Belt schedule, each of the 14 conference members play 18 league games, beginning the weekend of Dec. 29-31. The Thursday-Saturday format runs until the final week's games move to Wednesday-Friday, and the Panthers host rival Georgia Southern in their regular season finale on Feb. 24 Then all 14 teams will participate in the Sun Belt Conference Championship, scheduled for Feb. 28 through March 6 at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla.
 
Georgia State's Sun Belt slate consists of home-and-home with Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, James Madison, Marshall and Old Dominion, as well as home games against Troy, South Alabama and Southern Miss and road trips to Louisiana, ULM and Texas State. The Panthers will not face Arkansas State.
 
Top returnees for the Panthers include seniors Ashley Foster, Hannah Sadler and Tehya Lyons and Kamryn Dziak and junior Deasia Merrill.
