Chivu Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team for 2021-22

Georgia State women's tennis senior Eva Chivu was selected as a member of the 2021-22 CoSIDA Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team as announced by the organization on Thursday.

The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for stellar performances in athletic competition as well as for success and merit in classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions— NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Honorees at each level are divided into geographical districts across the United States and Canada. First-Team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-Americans to be announced in mid-June.

Chivu closes her tenure at GSU receiving All-Sun Belt Singles First Team honors for the spring 2022 season after posting a 12-3 record at the top singles court and a 14-4 record at doubles courts No. 1 and No. 3. In addition to the senior's production on the court, Chivu received Dean's List honors for spring 2022 and President's List honors for fall 2021 while earning a 3.99 overall GPA for the 2021-2022 calendar season.

Chivu was named to the Dean's List or President's List in every semester since enrolling at GSU. In addition to receiving Sun Belt Commissioner's List honors for 2019-20 and 2020-21, Chivu was recognized as an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the 2020 season.

Chivu was twice named SBC Player of the Week throughout her career with the Panthers and earned All-Sun Belt Singles First Team selections in 2019 and 2022. A native of Romania, Chivu's decorated career with GSU included being named Sun Belt Freshman of the Year in 2019.

Chivu ends her career at GSU by helping lead the Panthers to a historic turnaround season in 2022 that saw the team earn a share of the Sun Belt Conference Regular Season Championship while charting a 17-6 overall final record for the spring. GSU advanced to the SBC Tournament semifinals before falling short against conference foe UT Arlington.
