Brooke Hart Named to Concacaf Women’s Under-20 Championship Best XI

ATLANTA – Following a remarkable performance for the Puerto Rico National Team, Georgia State women's soccer rising junior Brooke Hart was named to the Concacaf Women's Under-20 Championship Best XI squad.

Hart was joined by Ana Diaz and Alondra Nieves on the squad that has been competing over the last month.

"Ana, Alondra and Brooke all played pivotal roles in helping Puerto Rico to a fourth-place finish in the U20 Concacaf World Cup Qualifying," head coach Ed Joyce said.

"Brooke had a great couple weeks down there and we were not surprised at all to see her contribute as many goals as she did. She strikes the ball so well and we see it every day in training. For Brooke to be named in the Best XI for the entire event is a massive honor for her and we are very proud of her. We can't wait to see her get her spring season going again after spring break!"

The 2022 CWU20 began with a 16-team group stage split into four groups of four teams, with the top three teams advancing to the knockout stage. Puerto Rico was placed in Group E along with the United States, Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua.

The champion, runner-up and third-place finisher qualified for the 2022 FIFA Women's U-20 in Costa Rica in August.

Georgia State wrapped up the 2021 season in November going 9-4-7, including a 3-1-6 mark in Sun Belt Conference play. The Panthers finished in third place in the conference and advance to the semifinals of the Sun Belt Championship.
