Jones Named GSU Student-Athlete of the Week

Leading the Panthers to three wins last week at both the plate and on the mound, sophomore Cameron Jones is this week's Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
Jones hit .368 with two home runs and six RBI while earning two saves on the mound to lead Georgia State to a 3-1 week.

On the mound, the left-handed closer earned two-inning saves against Wofford and Presbyterian College. He pitched four scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and zero walks while allowing just three hits. In both saves, he entered a one-run game in the eighth inning.

At the plate, the Panthers' first baseman went 7-for-19 with two home runs and two doubles. He drove in six runs and scored six more.

For the season, Jones is hitting .385 with two homers and 13 RBI. He leads the team with four saves, compiling a 0.00 ERA in five appearances. He has 14 strikeouts in 8.2 innings.

Georgia State will return to the field on Tuesday traveling to Clemson, before opening Sun Belt Conference play this weekend hosting Little Rock.
