Bartlett Guards on the Offensive Line

Anticipation is high for the 2021 football season as Georgia State returns 22 starters from last year's record-setting team and LendingTree Bowl champions.

Head coach Shawn Elliott's squad welcomes back all 11 starters from an offensive unit that averaged a school-record 33.3 points per game, nine starters from a GSU defense that ranked No. 7 in FBS with a program-record 35 sacks, and their placekicker and punter.

Each week leading up to the 2021 season opener on Sept. 4 vs. Army at Center Parc Stadium, GeorgiaStateSports.com will feature one of the 22 returning starters.

PAT BARTLETT
G, R-Senior, Newtown, Pa.

A three-year starter on the offensive line, Pat Bartlett has made 29 career starts at right guard, including GSU's last 28 games. Over the last two seasons, he has helped the Georgia State offense average 32 points, 221 yards rushing and 433 total offense yards per game.

In 2020, he started every game for an offense that averaged a school-record 33.3 points per game and 424.3 yards of total offense per game and helped the Panthers rank No. 13 in FBS in fewest sacks allowed.

Bartlett originally earned a starting berth at right guard as a true freshman, winning the nod in the preseason and starting the 2017 opening game vs. Tennessee State. The Pennsylvania native would have made his second start the following week in his home state at No. 5 Penn State, but he injured his knee in practice and missed the remainder of the season, taking a medical redshirt.

He returned to the starting five during the 2018 season, and in 2019, he was the starting right guard for a GSU offense that set school records for rushing yards (3,141), rushing touchdowns (30), total offense (5,818), first downs (305), touchdowns (53) and points (406), helped the Panthers rank No. 13 in FBS with 241.6 rushing yards per game.

Bartlett is an iron man who plays virtually every snap and also sees time on special teams. In 2019, he logged more than 100 snaps against Arkansas State (109) and Texas State (103).
