We're talking about preparing each and every week to really take the next step to put Georgia State University at the top of this conference."  Elliott was joined in New Orleans by offensive guard Shamarious Gilmore and noseguard Dontae Wilson, both super seniors who are among the Panthers' 22 returning starters and 10 Preseason All-Sun Belt selections.  "Five years ago, it was just about, 'Let's build a winning mentality, let's build a winning attitude, let's win our first bowl game,'" Elliott continued. "Here we are now, I'm going into my fifth year, Quion is going into his sixth year and Dontae into his fifth year, and now we're talking about, Let's go push for a 'Sun Belt Championship.'"  The Panthers return all 11 starters on offense, nine on defense and both kickers.  ""We have a great group of seniors and a great group of leaders. We have the talent, the players, our coaching staff is phenomenal, and I think we have the ability to go out and compete," Elliott said.  Georgia State's non-conference schedule is full of tough opponents, with its season home opener against Army, followed by games against North Carolina, Charlotte, and an SEC battle against Auburn.  "It is very challenging, but we prepare for games like this," Wilson said. "It is nothing new to us [playing tough opponents]."  After a strong freshman season, quarterback Cornelious "Quad" Brown IV is going into 2021 with more experience and maturity, with the ability to continue to make a name for himself under center. His growing leadership could be what makes a difference for the Panthers.   "We are going to have to be prepared and play our very best," Elliot said. "We are going to know a lot about our football team coming out of those four games. Our coaches and team are really looking forward to going out and competing."  The Panthers are getting set to take on Army at home on Sept. 4th and have all of fall camp do so, which is a huge benefit to how they can prepare and be able to come out at their best to start the season. Preseason practice begins Aug. 6.
