Pinckney Named to Biletnikoff Award Watch List

ATLANTA -- Georgia State wide receiver Sam Pinckney has been named to the Preseason Watch List for the 2020 Biletnikoff Award, announced Thursday by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation.

The Biletnkoff Award annually recognizes the college football season's outstanding receiver regardless of position.

Pinckney, the junior from Greenwood, S.C., is a Preseason First-Team All-Sun Belt Conference selection after earning second-team all-conference honors a year ago. He led led the Panthers in 2020 with 47 catches for 815 yards and seven touchdowns, ranking fourth in Sun Belt with 81.5 receiving yards, fifth with 4.7 receptions per game and second with 17.3 yards per catch.

Over the last two seasons, Pinckney has accumulated 83 catches for 1,275 yards and 12 touchdowns in 19 games. His 12 career touchdowns rank fourth in school history, and he also stands in the top 10 in GSU annals in career receptions (86) and receiving yards (1,357).

Pinckney is one of 11 returning starters on a Georgia State offense that averaged a school-record 33.3 points per game in 2020.
