MIc'd Up with Brad Glenn

The architect of Georgia State's record-setting offenses the last two seasons is offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brad Glenn.

Glenn's offenses have displayed both explosiveness and balance, averaging more than 212 yards rushing and 220 yards passing for his two seasons combined to help the Panthers to consecutive winning seasons and bowl berths.

His unit averaged a school-record 33.3 points in 2020 to lead the Panthers to their second consecutive winning season and bowl berth, capped by their victory in the LendingTree Bowl.

And with all 11 offensive starters returning, the 2021 GSU offense could be even better, so get your season tickets now by calling 404-413-4160 or visiting GeorgiaStateSports.com/TIX.

Six All-Sun Belt Conference honorees are among the 11 starters returning on offense: wide receivers Sam Pinckney and Cornelius McCoy, running back Destin Coates, tight end Roger Carter, left guard Shamarious Gilmore and center Malik Sumter. And that doesn't even include starting quarterback and LendingTree Bowl Cornelious Brown IV.

"I've been coaching for a long time, and I've never seen an offense and defense compete like we've been doing - it's almost like we're out there playing on Saturday," Glenn said during spring practice. "You can see the depth and experience, and it's fun as a coach to go out there and try to take this thing to the next level."

Last year's offense was a balanced attack that averaged 194 yards rushing and 230 yards passing per game.
As a redshirt freshman last fall, Brown passed for 2,278 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 468 yards and seven scores, despite not having a traditional spring practice, summer program and preseason camp due to the pandemic.

In addition to all the returning veterans, the GSU offense has added several talented newcomers for even more depth, especially at the receiver position. Redshirt freshmen Robert Lewis, Jacob Freeman, Christian Thomas and Tailique Williams as well as transfer Ja'Cyais Credle (from UCF) and true feshman Jaylin Tolbert (from Greenwood, S.C.) could all make an impact. Other key additions are quarterback Darren Grainger (transfer from Furman) and running back Jaquan Dixon (true freshman from Loris, S.C.).

Glenn joined the GSU staff in February 2019 after seven seasons as the associate head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Western Carolina. He previously served seven years at Appalachian State on the same offensive staff as head coach Shawn Elliott as the Mountaineers won three straight NCAA FCS titles (2005-07).
