Hosendove Named Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week Honor

ATLANTA -- Leading the women's basketball team to a pair of road victories, Taylor Hosendove was named this week's Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Hosendove hit a buzzer-beater Saturday to lead the Panthers past Appalachian State 50-48 at the Holmes Convocation Center in Boone. Hosendove led the team in scoring and rebounding with 10 points and 13 boards for her 13th career double-double. After posting up just outside the paint and receiving the ball from Taylor Henderson with about four seconds to play, Hosendove started towards the free throw line but spun back to the baseline and dropped in the game-winning layup as the buzzer sounded.

In Friday's 72-62 win at Appalachian State, Hosendove scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed five rebounds.

The junior from Los Angeles averaged 14.0 points and 9.0 rebounds for the week.

Hosendove and the Panthers will return to action traveling to Statesboro on Thursday to face Georgia Southern at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
