ATLANTA -- Freshman Carolyn Deady hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to lead Georgia State to a 4-3 win in Game 1 against Boise State as the Panthers and Broncos split Saturday's doubleheader with a 7-0 loss in Game 2.

Georgia State took a 2-0 lead in the third inning of Game 1 after Daisy Hess drew a bases-loaded walk and Bailee Richardson scored Baylee Sexton on a sac fly.

Boise State responded with a pair of home runs in the top of the fourth but Richardson put the Panthers back in front in the fifth with an RBI single.

After the Broncos tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth, Emily Brown led off the bottom of the seventh with a single to center. Hess moved Brown to second with a sac bunt and the Broncos walked Richardson and Sophie Mooney to load the bases with one out. Deady sent the first pitch see saw into center field to bring home Brown for the win.

Savannah Freeman picked up the win after allowing one earned on three hits through 3.2 IP. Freshman Macy Banks got the start and held Boise State to two runs through 3.1.

Boise State struck first in Game 2 with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth. The Broncos took advantage of some defensive miscues to post four runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth.

Julia Allen went 4.1 innings in Game 2, allowing two earned on five hits and striking out six. Freshman Elle Doolittle gave up one earned in 2.2 innings in relief.

The Panthers sit at 3-1 and will wrap up the weekend at Georgia Tech Sunday. The game was originally scheduled for 4 p.m. but the Panthers and Yellow Jackets will now start at 1:30 p.m. Fans are not allowed at Mewborn Field due to Covid-19 policies. The game can be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
