Hosendove Scores Career High in Loss to Eagles

Taylor Hosendove finished with 28 points and 12 rebounds in Thursday's 77-69 loss at Georgia Southern.

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Taylor Hosendove scored a career-high 28 points with 12 rebounds Thursday but the Panthers came up short in Statesboro, falling 77-69 to Georgia Southern.

Hosendove's tallied her 14th career double-double, 10th most in program history. She also added three steals and a pair of blocks. 

Georgia State fell behind early and slowly chipped away at Georgia Southern's lead. The Eagles were up 18 late in the third quarter but the Panthers caught fire midway through the final period, using a 12-3 run to pull within just two points of the Eagles with 1:54 to play.

GSU forced 24 turnovers and grabbed a season-high 19 steals, but the Eagles shot 47% from the field and out-rebounded the Panthers 49-33. 

The Panthers and Eagles will meet in Atlanta Saturday at 2 p.m. as Georgia State returns to the Sports Arena after five straight road games.
