Wilkins Named GSU Student-Athlete of the Week

ATLANTA -- Max Wilkins is this week's GSU Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Georgia State men's soccer team to a key 2-1 double overtime victory over Georgia Southern last Thursday night.

The win was the fourth-straight over the Eagles but more importantly sends the Panthers to the MAC Tournament this week in Dekalb, Ill.

Georgia State was in a must-win situation and with the win jumped Akron, Western Michigan, and Bowling Green into the tournament as the No. 3 seed.

The goal was his fifth of the year which is the second-most on the team.

Georgia State (11-5, 3-3 MAC) will open the MAC Tournament on Thursday at 4 p.m. facing No. 17 West Virginia on the campus of Northern Illinois.
