ATLANTA, Ga. – After two unforgettable seasons, veteran defender
Sandro Rabarivony leaves behind a legacy of heart and impact for the Panthers.
Rabarivony transferred to GSU after playing two seasons at Presbyterian College. His decision to play for Georgia State came after having positive conversations with the coaching staff and the opportunity to play with former Presbyterian teammate
Loan Marin.
Throughout his time at Georgia State, Sandro has grown as a person and player while gaining a sense of confidence in himself. He credits the coaching staff with transforming him as a player by helping him to learn how to trust his abilities and be less critical of himself and his performance.
Rabarivony is part of the 2026 leadership team. He appreciates the trust his coaches and teammates have instilled in him to be part of this amazing group and has been dedicated to helping several new players adjust and grow as players themselves, which has been demonstrated with the Panthers improvements over the 2026 season.
An accomplishment that Rabarivony remains especially proud of occurred during the 2025 season when the Panthers secured a 2-1 upset over a West Virginia team that was ranked third in the NCAA. The victory stands out as a defining moment for Sandro and his teammates.
AFTER GSU
Off the field, Rabarivony has been pursuing a degree in interdisciplinary studies with a focus in sports administration. Sandro wants to continue his dream of playing professional soccer but is also open to exploring career opportunities in coaching, school administration and team management.
As he prepares for graduation, Sandro plans to stay connected to his Georgia State family by maintain strong relationships with the coaching staff, support future players and attend games whenever possible. He leaves GSU with a lifetime of lessons, relationships and memories that made his time as a Panther special.
