Gregg Named GSU Student-Athlete of the Week

ATLANTA -- Tucker Gregg is this week's GSU Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Georgia State football team to a 28-16 Homecoming Game win over Texas State on Saturday.

Gregg rushed for 115 yards to lead the Panthers to their second straight win.

The senior from Chatsworth, Ga., keyed a GSU ground game that pounded out 298 yards.

Gregg's biggest play was a 14-yard run in the third quarter. With the Panthers holding a just a 14-13 lead and facing 4th-and-1 at the GSU 42, Gregg took the handoff up the middle and appeared to be stuffed at the line of scrimmage, but he bounced outside and raced 14 yards around the right end for the first down. Three plays later, Georgia State scored a touchdown to go up 21-13.

That run was Gregg's sixth fourth-down conversion run of the season.

Gregg's output against Texas State pushed the former walk-on over the 1,000-yard milestone for career rushing yards. He now stands ninth in GSU history with 1,072 yards.

Gregg and the Panthers will return to action on Saturday traveling to Statesboro to face Georgia Southern at 6 p.m. on ESPN+ and WRAS-FM 88.5
