3.11 GPA, 212 Academic Honorees Highlight Fall Semester

ATLANTA – Georgia State Athletics combined for a 3.11 grade point average for the fall semester, with 210 student-athletes earning academic honors.

The 3.11 GPA marks the 25th consecutive semester that GSU Athletics has maintained a GPA (semester or cumulative) of 3.0 or higher, dating back to 2008.

"I'm always impressed with the great work our student-athletes do in the classroom, but I'm especially proud of their achievements this semester, given the challenges of virtual learning and everything else they've had to deal with," Director of Athletics Charlie Cobb said. "I also want to thank our coaches and academic staff for all they have done to help our students be successful."

Georgia State's women's cross country team led the way with a 3.9 GPA, followed by the beach volleyball program at 3.8.

A total of 12 programs posted a team GPA above 3.0, including seven teams at 3.6 or higher, with men's golf, women's golf, men's tennis, women's tennis and softball joining cross country and beach volleyball.

Thirty-four student-athletes achieved President's List recognition for the fall, Georgia State's highest academic distinction signifying a semester GPA of 4.0 or higher.

Ninety-four individuals earned Dean's List status with a semester GPA of 3.5-3.99, and another 82 student-athletes made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll with a 3.0 or higher.
