Proctor Named to MAC Hermann Watch List

ATLANTA – Coming off a remarkable senior season, Georgia State's George Proctor was named to the MAC Hermann Watch List as announced by the United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club on Thursday given annually to the top men's soccer play in the nation.

The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer and is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year. This year's award was pushed back to accommodate the seasons affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Winners will be announced May 27 at the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy Press Conference and Banquet taking place at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo.

Proctor was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, along with the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year and to the All-Sun Belt team back in November.

Proctor led the Georgia State backline allowing just six goals in 11 matches this fall, including six clean sheets, while scoring a pair of goals and adding two assists. He finished tied for third on the team with seven points.

The senior earned Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week honors three times during the year, including the final two weeks of the season, keying the Panthers to a pair of crucial victories in the final two matches.

He finished tied for seventh in the fall in total assists (tied for third in the Sun Belt) and tied for 22nd in the nation in goals (top 10 in the league). He is also finished in the top 20 nationally in points and in the top 10 in the Sun Belt Conference in that category.

He was named honorable mention to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team on the Week on Oct. 7, and Nov. 9, and also named to the College Soccer News Team of the Week on Nov. 2, and Nov. 11.

Georgia State (9-2-2) finished the fall season ranked No. 6 in the country after advancing to a sixth-straight Sun Belt Conference Championship Game.
