ATLANTA -- Leading the Panthers to an impressive road sweep to open Sun Belt Conference play, redshirt sophomore
Taniyah Worth was named this week's Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Worth led Georgia State to a pair of road wins at Coastal Carolina this weekend, averaging 16.5 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game.
Worth scored a career-high 17 points going 6-of-12 from the floor with five rebounds in Friday's 73-55 win over the Chanticleers. She added 16 points while grabbing five rebounds as the Panthers overcame a double-digit defict to earn a 76-65 win.
Worth's defense was instrumental in holding Coastal Carolina to 35.0 percent shooting, including just 7-for-31 from long range, in the two games.
For the season Worth is averaging 10.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game and is second on the team with 14 3-pointers made.
Worth and the Panthers will return to the court for two games hosting Appalachian State beginning on Friday at 6 p.m., at the GSU Sports Arena.
