Men's Soccer Announces 2020 Fall Schedule

ATLANTA – Looking to advance to a sixth-straight Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship Game, the Georgia State men's soccer team announced an 11-game fall schedule on Friday.

The Panthers will play a six-game home-and-home conference schedule this year before hosting the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in November.

"I'm excited to finally get something set in stone and be able to really plan towards the fall season," head coach Brett Surrency said. "We expect a very competitive Sun Belt Conference this year and the added element of playing every team home and away will really make for a true regular season champion. It's always exciting to host the conference tournament and hopefully by then we will really be clicking and playing some good soccer."

The regular season will get underway Sept. 18, traveling to Mercer, before six days later making a trip to Columbia, S.C., to face South Carolina on Sept. 24.
Georgia State follow with a three-game homestand starting with UAB (Sept. 30), followed by the Sun Belt opener against Georgia Southern (Oct. 4) and then a second match-up with Mercer (Oct. 6).

The Panthers then hit the road for four straight matches: Coastal Carolina (Oct. 10), UAB (Oct. 13), Georgia Southern (Oct. 17), and Central Arkansas (Oct. 24).
Surrency's squad will close out the regular season with home match-ups against Coastal Carolina on Nov. 1, followed by the finale on Nov. 6, against Central Arkansas.

The 2020 Sun Belt Championship is scheduled for Nov. 13-15, at the GSU Soccer Complex.

The Panthers were recently picked to finish tied for second in the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. Georgia State opened last season going undefeated in its first nine matches, including a 1-0 win over No. 10 Charlotte, before finishing the year 12-4-4.

Fans attending home matches at the GSU Soccer Complex are encouraged to bring their own seating to safely maintain distances from other fans while cheering on the Panthers.
