Introducing Felicia Tucker, WBB Director of Operations

Felicia Tucker joins the GSU staff from Georgia Tech.

ATLANTA -- Head coach Gene Hill announced the hire of Felicia Tucker this week as the new GSU women's basketball Director of Operations.

Tucker spent the last two seasons on the women's basketball staff at Georgia Tech as the Player Personnel Administrator.

Born in Durham, N.C., the North Carolina native considers Henderson her hometown. She attended UNC for her undergraduate degree.

We caught up with Felicia to help you get to know the newest member of the Panther Family.

What was your first job after UNC?
I was the Head Athletic Trainer at Agnes Scott College here in Atlanta.

From Agnes Scott to Georgia State, describe your career path:
I was a certified athletic trainer with 16 years experience at Division I, II and III and served the last two years as the Player Personnel Administrator for Georgia Tech women's basketball.
 
What makes Atlanta special?
It's just enough city mixed with southern hospitality and great restaurants.

Interests outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family. My sister and I have a blog together. Due to Covid my family and I have become trail specialists and creek swimmers.

How many siblings do you have?
I have three sisters; Danielle, Chloe and Kirsten.

What is your go-to Karaoke song?
Beat it by Michael Jackson because I can do the choreography.

Favorite movie/show that you watched recently? 
I love Beat Bobby Flay.

Mountains or beach?
Beach, there is nothing more serene and calming than the ocean. I can spend all day relaxing on the beach and soaking up the sun.

Best trip you've ever taken? 
While I was with Georgia Tech we did a foreign tour to Barcelona, London and Paris.

Favorite quote?
Preparation is never lost time. The seed you plant today will bring a harvest tomorrow.

Who is your role model?
My role model is my mom. She is so strong, smart, and caring.

Why do you enjoy working in college athletics?
The student-athletes and seeing them grow and develop as people from their freshmen year till when they graduate. And if you're lucky a few of those student-athletes become lifelong friends.

What are you most excited about at Georgia State?
The opportunity to help develop a great group of young women under the leadership of Coach Hill.
