Today's first semifinal features WR Albert Wilson, a member of the Panthers' inaugural team who is entering his seventh NFL season with the Miami Dolphins, against Tarris Batiste, an All-Sun Belt Conference safety for Georgia State's first bowl team. Wilson narrowly advanced past
Dan Ellington in the first round with 57% of the votes. Batiste won his first-round matchup with 67%.

WR ALBERT WILSON vs. Arkansas State, 2013
-149 yds receiving on seven receptions and 104 yards rushing on just two carries
-Only Panther with 100 yds rushing & receiving in same game
-Had an 80-yard TD run, at the time the longest in school history. One play earlier, after Arkansas State recovered a fumble at the GSU 25, Wilson punched the ball loose to force a fumble and touchback.
-Caught a 70-yard TD pass with 2:13 to play that brought the Panthers within a two-point conversion of tying the game.

TARRIS BATISTE vs. Georgia Southern, 2015
- Two interceptions, two tackles for loss, a forced fumble and eight tackles to lead a dominating 34-7 victory that sent Georgia State to its first bowl game.
- Keyed a GSU defense that allowed program lows of seven points and 203 total yards, including just 135 yards on the ground by the nation's top rushing team.
- In a 7-7 game late in first half, he grabbed an interception at the GSU 5-yard line to keep the game tied, and then the Panthers reeled off 28 straight points in the second half.
- Named Sun Belt Conference and National Defensive Player of the Week.
