ATLANTA – Georgia State women's golfers Emma Berlin and Jenny Marston were honored on Monday by being named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars.
Berlin was honored for the second consecutive year while Marston earned honors in her first year at Georgia State. The awards are based on their performances on the course and in the classroom.
A total of 1,401 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
Berlin, who has earned President's List honors in each of her first four semesters, competed in six events as a sophomore before the season was cut short. She compiled a 74.83 scoring average, the eighth-best single season mark in school history while recording a team-high five rounds of par or better.
The native of Stockholm, Sweden, is currently majoring in English.
Marston mad an immediate impact on the Panthers this season competing in all six events and compiling a 75.16 scoring average, second-best on the team. After earning Dean's List recognition in the fall, the freshman from Bangkok, Thailand garnered President's List recognition in the spring.
She will enter her second year at Georgia State majoring in marketing.
The 2020-21 season will get underway in mid-September after the team returns to campus in mid-August.
