ATLANTA -- The Georgia State football program has added two graduate transfers for the 2020 season in placekicker
Noel Ruiz from North Carolina A&T and safety
Chris Moore from Virginia.
As graduate transfers, both student-athletes will be eligible to play immediately. They join a 2020 signing class that also includes 15 incoming freshmen and one other four-year transfer who signed with the Panthers in December.
Ruiz was named an FCS All-American by the American Football Coaches' Association in 2019 as led FCS with 1.92 field goals per game while ranking fifth in field goal percentage (.852) and 10th in scoring (116 points/9.7 ppg). He hit 23-of-27 field goals, with a long of 52 yards vs. Elon, and 47-of-52 extra points. The Wilson, N.C., native helped the Aggies to a 9-3 record, including a Celebration Bowl win over Alcorn State.
Moore played in 32 games with 11 starts over three seasons for the Cavaliers, including the 2019 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game and Capital One Orange Bowl. Last season, he made 42 tackles with one tackle for loss and two pass breakups. In 2017, he collected 41 tackles with two tackles for loss, one interception and two pass breakups before red-shirting in 2018. He was an all-state selection at Broad Run High School in Ashburn, Va.
