Williams Earns NABC All-District Honors

ATLANTA-The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Monday that Georgia State's Kane Williams has been selected to the NABC Division I All-District 24 Second Team for 2019-20, recognizing the nation's best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes.
 
It marks the eighth-straight season at least one Panther has been recognized. Last year, D'Marcus Simonds earned first team honors for a second-straight year.
 
The awards are selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC. A total of 250 student-athletes from 25 districts are now eligible for the NABC Coaches' Division I All-America teams.
 
Earlier this month Williams garnered All-Sun Belt Second Team honors after a remarkable season on the court.
 
Williams, who was named to the All-Sun Belt Preseason Second Team after garnering Sun Belt All-Tournament recognition last season, averaged a team-best 14.8 points per game while grabbing 4.6 rebounds and dishing out 4.4 assists per game. He was named the 2K Empire Classic Riverside Regional Tournament MVP earlier this season.
 
The junior shot 77.6 percent from the free throw line and swiped 48 steals, the second-most on the team. His 140 assists are the 11th-most in a single season in program history.
 
Georgia State finished the season 19-13 under first year head coach Rob Lanier. The Panthers recorded a seventh-straight winning season and have won 19 or more games in four-straight years.
