The Sandy Panthers Win Twice to Finish Stetson Spring Fling

Georgia State finishes the Stetson Spring Fling with a 2-2 record

DELAND, Fla.-The Georgia State Sandy Panthers dominated in a pair of wins Saturday in Deland. GSU defeated St. Petersburg 4-1 before knocking off St. Leo 5-0 to improve to 5-3 on the year.

Maddie Gordon and Becky Tresham went 4-0 on the weekend, improving to 7-1 on the young season.

The fun started when Gordon and Tresham got things started with a win on court two. Bekah Brodbeck and Bailey Hatchett made it 2-0 Panthers with a two-set win on court five. Kelly Dorn and Kate Novack clinched the dual with a win on court three. Maddy Delmonte and Eden Hawes added to the Georgia State point total on court two. Olivia Stasevich and Georgia Johnson dropped a marathon match on court three to give the Titans a point.

In the weekend finale, Gordon and Tresham started things off with another win on court four. Elise Saga and Meagan McCall hit the sand for the second time this season and picked up another win for the Panthers. GSU cruised to victories on courts one, two, and three to sweep St. Leo 5-0.

The Panthers are back in action Saturday in Charleston. The Sandy Panthers will face St. Leo before battling Coastal Carolina and College of Charleston. Fans can watch the duals via Periscope.
