FOLEY, Ala. – Georgia State captured its fourth-straight Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball Championship with a dominant 3-0 sweep of Coastal Carolina on Saturday afternoon at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex.
With the win, the Sandy Panthers claim their fifth consecutive conference title overall, including four straight in the Sun Belt (2026, 2025, 2024, 2023) and one in Conference USA (2022).
Georgia State also extended its perfect record in Sun Belt Championship play to 16-0 since the league began sponsoring beach volleyball in 2023.
As the No. 2 seed, Georgia State secured the title with straight-set victories on Courts 4, 2 and 5 against the top-seeded Chanticleers.
The Panthers set the tone early at the No. 4 position, where Kealy Dirner and Ella Mozeleski fought through a tight first set before pulling away for a 25-23, 21-14 win. Their performance earned them Pair of the Tournament honors and gave Georgia State an early advantage.
Momentum carried over to Court 2, where Michaela Jefferson and Danica Singleton delivered one of the most thrilling matches of the day. After taking the opening set 21-19, the duo outlasted Coastal Carolina in a marathon second set, 34-32, pushing the Panthers to a 2-0 lead.
Georgia State clinched the championship on Court 5, where Kaylie Drysdale and Ellie Neville controlled both sets in a 21-19, 21-15 victory to seal the sweep.
With the match decided, the remaining courts abandoned play. On Court 1, Savannah Ebarb and Bella Troncale split the first two sets (16-21, 21-18) before the match was left unfinished. Similarly, Noalani Nuez and Adeline Thompson forced a third set on Court 3 after trading 21-17 and 14-21 decisions, but their match also went unfinished.
The conference title earns Georgia State an automatic bid into the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship tournament on May 1-3. The 2026 NC beach volleyball championship bracket consist of 16 teams, with eight making it as automatic qualifiers via conference championships. Selections for nationals will be announced Sunday, April 26 at 1 p.m. ET on NCAA.com
