Bowl MVP Brown is GSU Student-Athlete of the Week

After taking home Most Valuable Player honors for the Panthers' LendingTree Bowl victory, Cornelious Brown IV is the Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week.

The redshirt freshman quarterback led Georgia State to the 39-21 win over Western Kentucky, securing the program's second bowl victory in four years and first back-to-back winning seasons.

Playing in his home state, Quad passed for 232 yards and three touchdowns while rushing 10 times for 40 yards.

After GSU fell behind 7-0, Brown directed four straight touchdown drives to send the Panthers into the locker room with a commanding 27-7 lead. He hit Sam Pinckney for a 26-yard scoring pass, connected with Jamari Thrash from five yards out and then found Cornelius McCoy for an 8-yard strike with just eight seconds left in the half.

Brown finished second in the Sun Belt in passing (227.8) and total offense (257.9) per game. Over the last three games, all GSU wins, he averaged 313 yards passing and 336 yards of total offense while completing 65 percent of his passes.
