Nsoseme Named GSU Student-Athlete of the Week

ATLANTA -- Averaging better than a double-double while using a record-setting performance to lead the Panthers to a pair of wins last week, redshirt-junior Eliel Nsoseme was named this week's Georgia State Student-Athlete of the Week on Monday.

The redshirt-junior averaged 16.0 points and 14.5 rebounds in two games while shooting 11-of-18 (61.1 percent) from the floor and 10-of-12 (83.3 percent) from the free throw line.

He opened the week with 16 points and 20 rebounds in an 88-81 win over Mercer as the Panthers earned revenge for their only loss of the year. It marked the first career double-double for Nsoseme. The 20 rebounds tied for the fifth-most in school history as he became the first player in 25 years to reach 20 boards in a contest.

In limited action (less than 20 minutes) on Friday, Nsoseme just missed a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds as the Panthers routed Carver 122-57. He added two blocks and an assist as the Panthers were held just one point shy of the school record for points.

For the year Nsoseme is averaging a double-double of 14.2 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. He leads the NCAA in offensive rebounds per contest (5.33) and is among the top 20 in rebounding average.

The Panthers will return to the court on Monday night to face the College of Charleston at 7 p.m., at the GSU Sports Arena.
