Men’s Golf Announces Signing of Mason Dean

ATLANTAGeorgia State men's golf coach Chad Wilson announced the signing of Duluth's Mason Dean on Wednesday.

Dean has earned six top 15 finishes since June, including a second-place result at the Rome Junior Classic, ninth at the SJGT Southern Junior at Saugahatchee, and a 10th place finish at the SJGT UGA Invitational.

"Mason is a perfect addition to our program for many reasons," Wilson said. "He's obviously a talented golfer, but his character is what really caught our attention. I have no doubt that he will make an immediate impact on our team ones he arrives to campus. His dedication to get better each day is evident in his recent scores and is what will ultimately allow him to have success at the next level. He comes from a great family and we cannot wait to see him carrying a bag for #PantherNation."

Earlier this summer Dean also earned a 15th place finish at the SJGT Berkeley Hills Junior Classic, the same course which serves as the home of the Georgia State program. He tied for 10th at the Notah Begay Atlanta Regional, and also finished in 11th place at the SCJGA Jimmy Self Invitational.

Georgia State is expected to open the spring season Feb. 14-16, at the All American Intercollegiate hosted by Houston in Houston, Texas.
