ON THE FIELD:

>Fifth-year senior who has earned playing time as a slot receiver and on special teams.

>Made a big catch against Louisiana with an 18-yard reception down to the 13-yard time to set up Georgia State's tying touchdown in the fourth quarter.

>Had 10 receptions for 75 yards as a backup in 2019.

>A former high school quarterback at Evans (Ga.) High School.

>The oldest player on the GSU roster after turning 24 in September.

>Says his favorite memory is "The first bowl win - that was done is such a short span with Georgia State being a new program."

>He also appreciates how much the program has grown since he arrived in January 2016.

"Overall, the growth of the program is incredible. Especially the stadium and how that has a played such a big role in recruiting and more and more people having their eyes on Georgia State overall."

OFF THE FIELD:

>One of six current Panthers who have already graduated, he earned his undergraduate degree in 2010 in economics, with a minor in educational psychology

>Now pursuing a master's degree in health and physical education, he says, "I want to become a teacher or coach because of the influential role that they played in my life when I was young."

>His father, Marvin Marshall, played three seasons in the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played college football at South Carolina State, where he is a member of the school's Hall of Fame.

>On his Georgia State experience, Matlin says, "The thing I like best about being a student at Georgia State is the diversity of the campus. With so many things to do in Atlanta, especially as far as jobs, the opportunities that you can can have at Georgia State are unlimited."
