Oct. 24, 2020  |  4 p.m. ET  |  Troy, Ala.
TV: ESPNU  |  Radio: WRAS-FM 88.5

THE KICKOFF: Georgia State faces its second straight road test with a nationally-televised (ESPNU) game at Troy Saturday at 4 p.m. ET at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

> Averaging 44.0 points per game, Georgia State is No. 4 in FBS in scoring, trailing only Texas (49.5), Alabama (48.5) and Clemson (48.4).

> The Panthers are coming off one of the highest scoring games in Sun Belt Conference history, falling 59-52 at Arkansas State. Georgia State piled up 583 yards of total offense, the fourth-highest figure in school history, with 269 yards rushing and 314 yards passing, but the Red Wolves scored the go-ahead touchdown with four minutes left.

> GSU scored 52 points, the program high vs. an FBS opponent, for the third time in the last 12 games.

> Georgia State's two losses are by a combined 10 points, with both coming down to the final possession, including a 34-31 overtime loss to Louisiana. Against Arkansas State, after the Red Wolves scored the go-ahead touchdown with four minutes left, GSU drove to the ASU 41 yard line before coming up short on fourth down.

> Redshirt freshman quarterback Cornelious Brown IV tied the GSU record by accounting for five touchdowns against Arkansas State. He threw three TD passes, all to Sam Pinckney, while rushing for scores of 35 and 11 yards. He finished with 314 yards passing on 18 completions and 83 yards rushing on 13 attempts.

> Brown, a native of Birmingham, Ala., leads the Sun Belt and ranks No. 14 in FBS with 307.0 yards per game. The only freshman in the nation averaging more is Spencer Rattler of Oklahoma.

> After catching six passes for a career-high 146 yards and three touchdowns vs. Arkansas State, wide receiver Sam Pinckney has caught five touchdowns in the last two games. He leads the Panthers with 17 receptions for 301 yards in three games.

> Making his first start, junior running back Tucker Gregg responded with a career-high 142 yards rushing on just 14 carries, including a 7-yard touchdown run against Arkansas State. He is the fifth different Panther to record a 100-yard game over the last two seasons.

> Destin Coates, who did not play against Arkansas State, is averaging 131.5 yards rushing per game. As a team, the Panthers are No. 9 in FBS in rushing (246.3 ypg).

> Georgia State won last year's meeting with Troy, 52-33 at Center Parc Stadium, behind school-record rushing performances by Tra Barnett (242 yards) and the Panthers (390 yards, later topped). Barnett broke the GSU rushing records for yards in a game, season and career that day, and QB Dan Ellington had two touchdowns passing and two rushing.

> Troy, coming off a 31-29 win over Eastern Kentucky on a last-second field goal, leads the series 5-2, and the Panthers are looking for their first victory at Troy.

> The Georgia State defense has scored touchdowns in back-to-back games. Redshirt freshman safety Antavious Lane returned an interception 34 yards for a score vs. East Carolina. Then linebacker Blake Carroll scooped up a fumble and returned it 74 yards for a touchdown vs. Arkansas State for the second-longest defensive touchdown in program history.
