Women's Basketball Sun Belt Schedule Released

The Panthers begin conference action Dec. 31 against Appalachian State in Atlanta.

ATLANTA -- Head coach Gene Hill and the Georgia State women's basketball program announced the 2020-21 Sun Belt schedule Thursday afternoon.

The Panthers open Sun Belt action on Dec. 31 at the Sports Arena against Appalachian State. The home stand continues with three more contests against Coastal Carolina, Arkansas State, and Little Rock before GSU hits the road to take on South Alabama on Jan. 14 and Troy on Jan. 16.

"We're excited to be playing this season and one of the things we've talked about is we are taking it day-by-day and we're treating each day like its our last, like the season could end at any moment," head coach Gene Hill said. "We're trying to really enjoy and embrace practices and workouts. What happened in the spring has rejuvenated our love for the game and made us realize how precious the opportunity to be able to play is. We want to make sure we take full advantage of that each day, whether its practice or a game."

After four home games to open the conference schedule, GSU travels to Mobile and Troy to play South Alabama and Troy.

The first leg of the rivalry matchup against Georgia Southern is set for Jan. 23 in Statesboro. The Panthers will host the Eagles on Feb. 20 in Atlanta.

Georgia State wraps up conference play on the road against Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State on Feb. 25 and 27, respectively, before starting the Sun Belt Tournament March 5-8 in Pensacola, Fla.
